A couple of phrases that I noticed while reading lately

It’s fun to notice the shorter and longer phrases that you’re noticing while reading.

  • “through empty lands south of Hollister” - Pinnacles National Park wikipedia entry
  • “frontiers that favored” - from “A brief history of equality” by Piketty,
  • “Like an hour I must come, and like an hour pass away.” - Epictetus, in Discourses.

These are often not even whole sentences, just a few words that stand out as more resonant that their neighbors.
